Il tribunale fallimentare di Milanoha dichiarato venerdì il fallimento di Shernon Holding srl, la società che nell’agosto 2018 aveva acquistato Mercatone Uno, nota catena italiana della grande distribuzione di mobili. Sabato mattina tutti i punti vendita di Mercatone Uno, 55 in tutta Italia, sono rimasti chiusi. Secondo i sindacati di categoria, ai 1.800 dipendenti riassorbiti da Shernon Holding non sarebbe arrivata alcuna lettera di licenziamento o avviso ufficiale: avrebbero saputo della chiusura dei negozi solo venerdì sera, sui social network e dai responsabili delle varie filiali. Sabato mattina i dipendenti di alcuni negozi si sono comunque presentati di fronte ai punti vendita, organizzando presidi e proteste contro la gestione di Shernon Holding.
Dopo l’acquisizione dei negozi, ha scritto il Corriere, la Shernon Holding aveva annunciato un imponente piano di rilancio per ottenere già ampi ricavi a partire dal 2022. Poco dopo, però, la società aveva cominciato a parlare di crisi e aveva fissato un incontro al Ministero per lo Sviluppo Economico per studiare un piano di salvataggio per l’azienda. Prima che questo avvenisse, e senza alcun preavviso, la Shernon ha però dichiarato fallimento.
