Michael Bennet joins the race for the Democratic nomination.
Another hat in the ring. Another senator who feels the need to take on this inept man.

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) is the newest contender who has announced his intentions to run for President of the United States.

He will join a list of many contenders that include his former governor John Hickenlooper. He would be the second from Colorado to run.

Bennet is the seventh senator to jump into the race. He along with Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Kloubacher and Kamala Harris are running for the nomination.

Bennet who once worked as the top administrator for the Denver city schools was appointed U.S. Senator in 2009 after Ken Salazar resigned to become Barack Obama's Department of Interior secretary.

Bennet was picked by then governor Bill Ritter to be in the U.S. Senate. Bennet a centrist Democrat who often supports Republican policies.

Bennet who was relatively unknown was forced to face off against Ken Buck a former county attorney for Weld County. Bennet would beat Buck by a hair. Buck would later become the U.S. Representative for the 4th District of Colorado in 2015.

Bennet also faced off Darryl Glenn, a Black Republican who challenged him in 2016. Bennet won the election. He had more votes than Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in her failed bid.

Bennet was considering a run for president after the wildfires affected his state. He was angered by the FEMA chief Brock Long handling of the wildfires.

Bennet also announced his bid after he was cleared of prostate cancer. He said that the diagnosis won't damper his chance of being in this.

Does Michael Bennet have the potential to become the President of the United States? (Expect the dumbest answers picked by far-right trolls)

Yes. I believe that Michael Bennet is capable of beating President Donald Trump. He has the ability to reach out to Rust Belt voters who feel that a progressive agenda is too much for them to handle. Bennet being a moderate could help build a coalition of both progressive and conservatives to work with him if he becomes president.
No. I feel that Michael Bennet is a corporate Democrat. He will align himself to an agenda that progressives will never support. He may be a Democrat but progressives don't want a nominee who will work with Republicans to get things done. We want the fire in the belly Democrats who can take it President Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.
I have no opinion of Michael Bennet. I have to know a little more about him before I make a decision to whether I support him or not.

"I'm looking forward to running in 2020," Bennet said. "This obviously was unexpected. But we caught it early. It's something that I think we're going to be able to treat. And I don't think it should keep me off the trail."

The senator, 54 has an uphill battle ahead of him. He doesn't have much name recognition outside of Colorado. He's not polarizing like Joe Biden,  Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Beto O'Rourke.

He doesn't have the energy like them. But he said that he's perfectly fine with that.

"The Democratic Party doesn't stand for very much at the national level with respect to what the American people think. A process like this is long overdue in the Democratic Party."

He also released a four minute video introducing himself to the public.

Bennet said that he doesn't have the cable news circling around him yet. He knows what the junk food media can do to candidates like him.

Michael Farrand Bennet is the son of Douglas J. Bennet, a former State Department official and president of Wesleyan University. Bennet was born in New Delhi, India. His mother is Susanne Bennet (nee Klejman). She taught English as a second langauge at Language ETC, a non-profit Washington, DC school.

His brother is James Bennet, an editorial columnist for The New York Times.

Bennet is married to Susan Daggett, an attorney for Earthjustice. He has three daughters. He is non religious. He does have Jewish roots and Christian roots.

He could face birther questions like Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) on location.

Gabbard was born in American Samoa, a U.S. territory that doesn't recognize its citizens as American by birth.

Bennet is looking forward to challenging Trump.

So far, Donald J. Trump has a 75% chance of winning reelection. The Democrats need to focus on how to win back progressives and moderates who voted for Barack Obama. Ignore the conservatives and Republicans who never supported Trump. They'll vote for Trump regardless. We need to focus on the movement forward. If Trump wins, there's four more years of far-white politics and divisiveness.
