Foto pertama dari fregat Filipina muncul di laman medsos MaxDefense. Fregat dengan basis kapal tipe HDF-2600 dan diberi nama BRP Jose Rizal dengan nomor lambung FF-150, saat ini masih dalam pengerjaan di galangan kapal Hyundai Heavy Industries, Ulsan, Korea Selatan.

Filipina memesan dua fregat baru senilai Php 15,7 bio (297 mio USD) yang tendernya dimenangkan oleh galangan dari Korea ini. Pengadaan dua kapal ini adalah bagian dari modernisasi angkatan bersenjata Filipina tahap pertama (Horizon 1) yang berlangsung dalam kurun 2013-2018.



Tinggal menghitung hari fregat pertama ini akan diluncurkan dan kemudian disusul dengan keel laying fregat kedua, BRP Antonio Luna FF-151. Fregat yang keel layingnya dilakukan pada Oktober 2018 ini akan diserah-terimakan pada kuartal pertama tahun 2020, sedangkan fregat kedua pada 2021

Kapal fregat ini mempunyai panjang total 107 meter dan lebar 13,8 meter, bobot maksimalnya adalah 2.600 ton, kapal sanggup berlayar dengan kecepatan maksimal 25 knot dengan jelajah maksimal 4.500 nm (8.330 km).
