Non c’è governo negli ultimi anni che non abbia promesso di abbassare le tasse. Ma a giudicare dai numeri, nessuno c’è riuscito. Secondo i dati del Tesoro elaborati da AdnKronos nel 2018 i tributi pagati dagli italiani hanno superato i 500 miliardi di euro, 504 per la precisione. Rispetto a dieci anni prima significa 42,2 miliardi in più, il 9,1%.
Anche la variazione sui diversi tipi di tributi ci dice qualcosa sulle politiche fiscali adottate negli ultimi anni. Le imposte dirette, ovvero quelle che colpiscono la ricchezza, sono arrivate a quota 248,9 miliardi, con un incremento di 9,1 miliardi (3,8%). Le imposte indirette, invece, ovvero quelle che incidono sui consumi (per esempio l’Iva) sono arrivate a quota 253,6 miliardi, lievitando di 32 (+14,5%). Crollo verticale, invece, delle imposte in conto capitale, ovvero quelle che colpiscono saltuariamente il valore delle attività o del patrimonio netto, come quelle che si pagano per lasciti, donazioni, successione: da 12,3 miliardi siamo scesi a 1,5.
