Tante volte si è sentito parlare di uno 'scontro di civiltà' che sarebbe in atto tra l'Occidente e il mondo arabo/mussulmano o più in generale orientale. Tale tesi, sostenuta dagli strateghi dell'imperialismo statunitense/'occidentalista' e da quelli dell'islamismo, non è realmente vera nella sua essenza.
Difatti, non esiste un tangibile 'scontro di civiltà' in atto in quanto una considerevole parte degli individui occidentali ( cristiani, atei e così via ) e arabo/orientali (mussulmani o meno) non ha intenzione di attaccarsi a vicenda ma semmai vorrebbe vivere in pace.
Ciò che esiste, semmai, sono i desideri 'suprematisti' che accomunano diversi settori del fronte imperialista dell'Occidente e di quello islamista dell'Oriente.
Il fatto è che gli strateghi dell'imperialismo statunitense/'occidentalista' neocon ( ma anche liberal) difendono l'idea di un 'mondo unipolare' e globale fondato sulla supremazia della società occidentale moderna e, d'altro canto, quelli islamisti desiderano un mondo globale unito nel nome di un 'Califfato internazionale'.
Interessante risulta il fatto che sostanzialmente, nella realtà, gli interessi di questi 'opposti fronti' paiono coincidere geopoliticamente.
Per provare ciò, basti pensare al fatto che gli strateghi dell'imperialismo 'occidentalista' hanno innescato guerre di stampo neocolonialista contro paesi come la Libia o la Siria, paesi fondati certamente su regimi controversi e democraticamente deficitari ma assai invisi all'estremismo islamico.
D'altro canto, regimi islamisti e potenzialmente neocolonialisti come l'Arabia Saudita sono stati e sono da sempre alleati dell'imperialismo 'occidentalista' ( prima inglese poi statunitense) e i settori più antioccidentali della Fratellanza Musulmana sono stati tollerati e sostenuti nella Guerra Fredda o lo sono tutt'ora.
Il discorso è chiaramente più ampio e chiaro di ciò ma, nei suoi evidenti imiti, potrebbe eventualente far riflettere sulla tematica.
