Stanitsa bridge is a shame for entire Europe - Berlin's regional MP from AfD

LUGANSK, February 25 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The Stanitsa Luganskaya bridge, the only connection between the LPR and Ukraine, partially ruined by the Ukrainian forces has become "a great shame for the entire Europe", said Gunnar Lindemann, member of Berlin's regional parliament from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
He and Patrick Poppel, director of the Suvorov Institute in Vienna, Austrian human rights activist and Gunnar Lindemann, are visiting Donbass to collect evidence of Ukrainian aggression against the region. Accompanied by LPR representative in the Contact Group humanitarian subgroup Olga Kobtseva, they visited the Stanitsa Luganskaya checkpoint.
"I wouldn't believe it, if I haven't seen it with my own eyes," Lindemann said. "But I saw it: elderly people in great numbers are crossing this gap."
"This is a great shame for the entire Europe. We know that the money for reconstruction has been supplied to the ICRC, but Ukraine refuses to change the situation."
He said that Ukrainian president Petr Poroshenko is committing a crime by refusing to allocate European money to the reconstruction project.
"I address the people of Ukraine, who are about to elect their president, Think twice about who you choose, vote for a change, We hope that Ukrainians will change the situation, and the election brings people who can stop the war to power."
Currently there is only one official checkpoint on the contact line in the Lugansk People’s Republic area of responsibility in Donbass and it is accessible via the bridge in vicinity of Stanitsa Luganskaya. Only pedestrian traffic here is possible thanks to temporary conduit, as the bridge was blown up by Ukrainian forces in early 2015. LPR has been continuously proposing to rebuild it.
The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on February 12, 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by Resolution 2202 and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.
The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
