Già, l'imprenditore e manager è sceso nuovamente in campo al fianco degli allevatori sardi, in forte agitazione per il crollo del costo del latte: il prezzo, infatti, è sceso fino a 60 centesimi al litro (Iva inclusa), contro i 62 centesimi registrati nel mese di gennaio. Il tutto con i costi di produzioni in crescita. Ecco perché nell'isola è scoppiata la virulenta protesta degli imprenditori-produttori di latte ovino: blocchi del traffico, corei e bidoni del latte rovesciati per le strade.
Flavio Briatore, dalla sua, è sempre stato vicino ai pastori: anni fa, infatti, aveva lavorato al fianco dei pastori della provincia di Nuoro per un formaggio pecorino chiamato "Bithi" di Barbagia. E in Sardegna, peraltro, Briatore ha creato il Billionaire a Porto Cervo, attirando ancor più turisti sull'isola.
Queste le sue parole rilasciate in un’intervista all'Unione Sarda proprio in merito all'agitazione dei pastori: "È una categoria che soffre moltissimo. Sono persone che affrontano quotidianamente grandi sacrifici perché le pecore devono essere munte tutti i giorni. I pastori non possono certo andare in vacanza. Li ho sempre ammirati […] Sicuramente è un mestiere ingrato, molto duro ed è necessaria tanta passione".
E ancora. "Gli industriali del latte dovrebbero capire che se non c'è un prezzo adeguato per quello che i pastori fanno questi non possono andare avanti e credo che senza il latte dei pastori anche gli industriali abbiano grosse difficoltà a proseguire nella produzione. È necessario sedersi, discutere e trovare un accordo che possa andar bene ad entrambe le parti. Forse è importante che ci siano meno passaggi prima che il prodotto arrivi nelle tavole della gente e che le quote di produzione del pecorino romano siano assegnate ai pastori e rispettate nei limiti prefissati".
