Biak (ANTARA News) - Komandan Pangkalan Udara Manuhua Biak, Papua Marsekal Pertama Fajar Adriyanto mengungkapkan Skuadron Udara 27 Biak segera diresmikan KSAU Marsekal Yuyu Sutisna dijadwalkan pada Mei 2019. 

"Fasilitas sarana penunjang Skuadron 27 yang berada di wilayah operasi Lanud Manuhua Biak sudah siap dioperasikan," kata Danlanud Manuhua Marsma Fajar Adriyanto, di Biak, Selasa. 

Ia menyebutkan untuk mendukung operasional Skuadron 27 dioperasikan di Biak akan ditambah sebanyak 100 personel TNI Angkatan Udara. 

Marsma Fajar mengakui kehadiran Skuadron 27 pesawat CN 235 di Kabupaten Biak Numfor diharapkan dapat mendukung kelancaran angkutan udara untuk menunjang pelayanan tugas operasi udara di wilayah Papua dan Papua Barat. 

Sedangkan keberadaan Skuadron 27 dengan pesawat CN 235, menurut Masrma Fajar, untuk membantu pemerintah serta dapat menggerakkan roda perekonomian masyarakat di tanah Papua. 

"Ada tiga pesawat CN 235 yang sudah siap dioperasikan, ya untuk idealnya Skuadron 27 harus punya sekitar 12 pesawat," katanya lagi. 

Pembangunan fasilitas hanggar Skuadron udara 27 di Pangkalan Udara Manuhua Biak dilakukan sejak bulan Oktober 2018 berlokasi di STAB Baling-baling.
