Filippo Mazzurco, non c’è stato nulla da fare nonostante l'intervento dei sanitari del 118 che, intervenuti sul posto, lo avrebbero trovato in un lago di sangue. L'uomo, stando a una prima ricostruzione del delitto, sarebbe stato colpito a coltellate al torace mentre dormiva. Sul luogo del delitto sono intervenuti gli agenti del commissariato di Partinico. L'omicidio del sessantaquattrenne sarebbe avvenuto dopo una lite, ma le indagini sono soltanto alle prime battute e gli investigatori non si sbilanciano sul movente.
La vittima era tornata da poco in Sicilia dopo molti anni trascorsi in Svizzera – Sarebbe stata la stessa moglie di Mazzurco, la cinquantacinquenne Antonella Cover, ad autodenunciarsi in commissariato dopo aver accoltellato il marito raccontando quanto accaduto. La polizia che indaga sul caso al momento sta interrogando i familiari della coppia per tentare di capire il contesto in cui è maturato il delitto. In base alle prime informazioni, Mazzurco era tornato da poco tempo a Partinico dopo molti anni trascorsi in Svizzera, dove aveva lavorato come elettricista. Da tempo la coppia sarebbe stata separata, ma marito e moglie continuavano a vivere nella stessa abitazione.
