“Non siamo vittime, siamo sopravvissuti. E guideremo questo paese verso la gloria che si merita”, aveva dichiarato dicendosi pronto a mettersi a capo di un governo di transizione che mettesse fine al potere del presidente venezuelano, insediatosi al suo secondo mandato in sei anni come capo della Repubblica bolivariana dopo avere vinto le elezioni con il 70 per cento dei voti. Alla cerimonia di insediamento dell’erede di Chavez, erano assenti molti capi di Stato, che si erano rifiutati di riconoscere Maduro come nuovo presidente del Venezuela.
