L’Etna in questi giorni si è “risvegliato” e lo Stromboli, nelle Eolie, riprende la sua “attività” confermando il collegamento tra i due vulcani siciliani. Come sostiene il vulcanologo catanese

Lo Stromboli ha ripreso la sua attività caratterizzata dal lancio di lapilli e dopo una riunione il Dipartimento della Protezione Civile ha disposto il passaggio di livello di allerta da “verde”, che corrisponde all’attività ordinaria, al livello “giallo” e la conseguente attivazione della fase operativa di “attenzione” secondo quanto previsto dal piano nazionale di emergenza per l’isola di Stromboli.
“La valutazione – sottolinea una nota della Protezione civile – è basata sulle segnalazioni delle fenomenologie e sulle valutazioni di pericolosità rese disponibili dall’Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia e il Dipartimento Scienza della Terra dell’Università di Firenze. L’innalzamento del livello determina il potenziamento del sistema di monitoraggio del vulcano e l’attivazione di un raccordo informativo costante tra la comunità scientifica e le altre componenti e strutture operative”.

Due scosse di terremoto di magnitudo 3.4 (con epicentro a Biancavilla) e di magnitudo 2.5 (epicentro a Adrano) sono state registrate oggi, martedì 25 dicembre, dall’INGV nel catanese. La prima scossa, quella di magnitudo 3,4, è avvenuta alle 13,45. La seconda scossa, quella con epicentro ad Adrano, è avvenuta intorno alle 15.30.
Altre quattro scosse sono state invece registrate nell’ennese: due a Centuripe e due a Regalbuto. A Centuripe alle 14.39 la scossa è stata di magnitudo 2.7.
