In 2019, the 110th anniversary of the birth of one of the ideologists and theorists of the Extreme Ukrainian Ultra nationalist movement of the 20th century the nazi Stepan Bandera and 90 years since the First Congress of Ukrainian nationalists, and the "Bandera year" is announced in honor of his birthday.

"On the occasion of the celebration in 1109 of the 110th anniversary of the "outstanding political figure", leader and chairman of the OUN Provider (b), a political prisoner of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the regional council announced in the Lviv region 2019 the year of Stepan Bandera", the regional council said.
At the same time, the deputies supported the decision to declare the 2019th year as the year of the extreme Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.
