على توقيت تصاعد المواجهة بين إيران والولايات المتحدة، واقتراب دخول الدفعة الأصعب من العقوبات الأميركية مع ضغوطها الموازية حيز التنفيذ، تستعرض طهران قدراتها العسكرية مستهدفة إيصال رسائل ردع في هذه المرحلة. وبعد الاستعراض «الحي»، قبل أيام، بعملية القصف الصاروخي على مواقع «الحزب الديموقراطي الكردستاني» داخل كردستان العراق، أكدت إيران تصديها لمحاولات الولايات المتحدة وحلفائها اختراق الداخل الإيراني عبر إشعال الجيوب الانفصالية لزيادة الضغوط على طهران. الفصل الثاني من الرسائل، وعلى مسافة أسابيع من موعد العقوبات في أربعة تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر، تتولاه القوات الإيرانية على صورة مناورات استعراضية، بدأها «الباسيج» (قوات التعبئة) في محافظة سيستان وبلشوستان جنوب شرق البلاد، حيث خاصرة رخوة أخرى، يراد لها أن تنفجر بوجه طهران على خلفيات عرقية ومذهبية.

وتأتي المناورات في الخليج، على وقع التهديدات التي أطلقها المسؤولون الإيرانيون حول حرمان الدول الأخرى من تصدير النفط عبر إغلاق مضيق هرمز الاستراتيجي في حال مُنعت إيران من تصدير نفطها. كما في الميدان، الرسائل الإيرانية السياسية تؤكد التصعيد بوجه الضغوط الأميركية، وآخرها وصف تصريحات المندوبة الأميركية لدى الأمم المتحدة عن طلب طهران لقاء الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، بـ«المثيرة للسخرية»، مع تأكيد الخارجية الإيرانية أن أي لقاءات لن تحصل بين الإيرانيين والأميركيين على هامش اجتماع الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك. يذكر أن اللقاء مطلب عبّر عنه ترامب في أكثر من مناسبة، وهو ما لم تستجب له طهران، إلا أن الرئيس الأميركي سيسعى إلى استثمار وجود زعماء الدول في نيويورك لزيادة الضغوط عبر ترؤسه اجتماعاً لمجلس الأمن الدولي حول إيران الأسبوع المقبل.
