Viene a decadere finalmente in Germania il divieto di utilizzare simboli che possano richiamare “organizzazioni incostituzionali”, con riferimento non esplicito ma ovviamente più che evidente al nazismo, bandito in modo pressochè integrale dal mercato videoludico teutonico.
Solo per citare un esempio recente, “Wolfenstein: The new order”. Nelle versioni in commercio in Austria ed in Germania, il gioco era stato completamente ripulito da ogni riferimento esplicito alle simbologie nazionalsocialiste. Lo stesso Hitler era stato raffigurato sprovvisto dei caratteristici baffi che lo contraddistinguono in ogni ritratto dell’epoca, così da renderlo meno assimilabile al reale personaggio storico.
Bene, da oggi in poi la commissione della Usk, ovvero l’ente che si occupa di fornire la classificazione dei videogiochi in Germania, valuterà caso per caso chi utilizza simboli di questo tipo con intenti esclusivamente artistici o storici e chi invece lo farà con palesi finalità propagandistiche. I videogiochi con questo tipo di contenuto saranno quindi semplicemente valutati come adatti esclusivamente ad un pubblico adulto, ma senza più censure di sorta. Una svolta, questa, decisamente epocale dato che si tende così ad equiparare i videogame ad altre opere di intelletto quali i romanzi o serie televisive, che già erano state liberate da questo genere di vincoli.
