Medium tank hasil kerjasama Pindad-FNSS akhirnya menjalani uji tembak perdana yang dilangsungkan di Pusat Pendidikan Infantri (Pusdikif) Cipatat, Bandung, Jawa Barat pada hari sabtu, 25 Agustus 2018.
Uji tembak ini adalah tahapan akhir menuju sertifikasi, setelah sebelumnya tank medium ini menjalani uji ledak ranjau berkekuatan 10kg TNT, uji tanjakan ekstrim hingga 60 derajat di Sarangan, Magetan, Jawa Timur dan uji medan berpasir di pantai Setrojenar, Kebumen, Jawa Tengah.
Pada uji tembak kali ini, tank medium ini harus menembak sasaran di atas bukit yang berjarak lurus 1.300m (1,3 km). Kubah turret C1305 High Pressure kaliber 105mm buatan CMI Defence Belgia ini sukses menembakkan munisi dan mengenai sasaran dengan telak, asap mengepul pada sasaran yang terkena tembakan tank medium ini.
Kubah turret jenis High Pressure ini dapat mengakomodir munisi standar NATO yaitu jenis APFSDS-T dan HEAT-T yaitu jenis munisi dengan kecepatan tinggi sehingga dapat dipakai untuk menghantam kendaraan tempur lawan dengan menghasilkan penetrasi yang dalam. Efek munisi seperti ini adalah recoil (hentakan ke belakang) yang tinggi, dan kubah turret yang dipilih untuk medium tank ini mampu untuk menahan hal tersebut.
Dengan selesainya uji coba atas tank medium Pindad-FNSS ini maka sertifikasi tank medium Pindad dapat diraih dari penggunanya yaitu TNI Angkatan Darat, dan Pindad sebagai produsennya dapat melangkah ke tahap produksi untuk menggarap pesanan pertama sebanyak 50 unit.
