BANDUNG - Medium tank produksi bersama antara PT Pindad dan FNSS Turki kembali ke Bandung setelah menjalani serangkaian uji coba. Kedatangan tank ini disambut meriah di kawasan industri PT Pindad, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Kota Bandung, Kamis (16/8/2018). 

Pantauan di lapangan, seluruh karyawan PT Pindad berjajar di sepanjang jalan sembari mengibarkan bendera merah putih berukuran kecil. Sementara beberapa pejabat Pindad ikut naik di atas tank, sembari di arak ke tempat acara.

Upacara penyambutan medium tank Pindad sengaja dilakukan usai mengikuti serangkaian uji coba di Magetan, Kebumen, Subang, dan Bandung. Medium tank telah menyelesaikan uji mobilitas, uji lampu tempur, uji endurance, dan lainnya.

“Ini tonggak sejarah. Ini kebanggaan putra putri Indonesia berhasil membuat tank sendiri. Ini keberhasilan kita yang dimulai dari desain hingga membuat prototipe,” kata Direktur Utama PT Pindad Abraham Mose.

Dengan selesainya uji coba mobilitas dan endurance, medium tank tunggal menyelesaikan uji tembak pada 27 Agustus 2018. “Kami mohon doa dari karyawan untuk menyelesaikan tes tembak. Terima kasih atas sumbangsih tenaga dan pikiran,” imbuhnya.
