GEORGE TOWN: Four assets, belonging to the 3rd Regiment Royal Armoured Corps in Sungai Petani, Kedah will be on display at the national-level ‘Bulan Merdeka’ (Independence month) and ‘Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2018’ events, which will be launched by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The assets include one Gempita 8×8 AVS 30mm variant.

Lieutenant Muazam Shah Ahmad Saberi, 27, said 10 personnel would be stationed at the exhibition site and that visitors are allowed to take photographs with the armoured vehicles.

“Our personnel will also brief them about the assets. However, they are not allowed to enter the vehicles,” he said when met by NSTP here today.

Dances, choreographed to the concept of patriotism along with the ‘Sayangi Malaysiaku’ National Day theme, would also be presented at the launch ceremony on Saturday.



There will also be a choir as well as cultural dances by artists from the PENTARAMA unit of the Information Department, the Department of Culture and Arts, and the Penang State Cultural Council.

The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) is targtting 30,000 visitors for the celebration with a number of interesting activities in store for visitors.
