The Washington Post revealed the forthcoming book that has been kept closely under wraps.

Bob Woodward, half of the iconic reporting pair (along with Carl Bernstein) famous for the extensive Watergate reporting that helped bring down President Richard Nixon, is preparing to launch a new book about the inner workings of President Donald Trump's White House, the Washington Post reported Monday night.

The book will be titled Fear: Trump in the White House, according to the Post. The title comes from an ominous interview Woodward and reporter Robert Costa had with Trump. Costa asked whether Trump agreed with President Barack Obama's view that “real power means you can get what you want without having to exert violence.”

“Well, I think there’s a certain truth to that. . . . Real power is through respect,” he said. But then he added: “Real power is, I don’t even want to use the word: ‘Fear.’”

Quoting a press release, the Post reports that, in the book, Woodward “reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies.”

According to the report, Woodward returns his traditional methods in the book to on-the-ground reporting to fill in the details behind the walls of the White House.

"Late at night, he’s been prone to show up at important people’s houses unannounced to ask for interviews," the Post reports. "He’s told friends that it feels like a 'rebirth.'"

Given Woodward's status as a celebrity in the world of political reporting, the book will instantly become one of the most highly anticipated tomes about the Trump era to date.
