i 67 migranti soccorsi domenica dalla Vos Thalassa, è arrivata nel porto di Trapani, in Sicilia. Lo sbarco dei migranti è stato ritardato per diverse ore perché la prefettura della città non aveva dato l’autorizzazione necessaria: in serata il presidente del Consiglio Giuseppe Conte ne ha però annunciato l’inizio ed è cominciato poco dopo le 23. Il ministro dell’Interno Matteo Salvini ha detto di augurarsi che si concluda nel corso della notte. Secondo i giornali la situazione si è sbloccata dopo che il presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella ha chiesto a Conte di risolverla.
Due dei migranti, il sudanese Ibrahim Bushara e il ghanese Hamid Ibrahim, sono indagati per violenza privata in concorso continuata e aggravata, ai danni del comandante e dell’equipaggio della Vos Thalassa. La polizia ha però escluso il reato più grave di cui si era parlato in relazione al loro comportamento sulla Vos Thalassa, quello di dirottamento, che era stato ipotizzato da Salvini. Secondo le ricostruzioni pubblicate dai giornali, i due migranti indagati si sarebbero ribellati all’equipaggio della Vos Thalassa – che poi aveva chiesto l’intervento della Guardia costiera – dopo aver scoperto che la nave si stava dirigendo verso la Libia, nei cui campi per migranti sono frequenti e attestati omicidi, stupri e in generale violazioni dei diritti umani.
In serata Salvini – che si trova a in Austria per un incontro con i suoi omologhi austriaco e tedesco –
aveva scritto su Twitter: «Sto aspettando di sapere se sulla nave Diciotti ci sono delinquenti. Da Ministro e da cittadino prima di far sbarcare chiunque, vorrei sapere chi c’è a bordo!». Le organizzazioni umanitarie che lavorano nel mar Mediterraneo, tra cui l’UNHCR, l’agenzia dell’ONU che si occupa di rifugiati,
avevano invece chiesto che i migranti venissero fatti sbarcare dando la precedenza ai minorenni e alle persone «vulnerabili». Dei migranti arrivati sulla Diciotti i minorenni sono tre.
Nel corso della giornata altri migranti sono stati soccorsi in mare e portati in Sicilia: 60 sono stati prelevati dalla Guardia di Finanza su una barca a vela che navigava verso Noto, 23 invece al largo di Lampedusa.
