Il Financial Times torna a mettere nel mirino l'Italia e lo fa con un editoriale a firma Wolfang Munchau che di fatto attacca senza usare giri di parole il ministro degli Interni, Matteo Salvini.
La posizione del quotidiano della City è abbastanza chiara: "Salvini è una minaccia per Bruxelles". A questo punto l'editoriale di Munchau si fa più duro e invoca la "Repubblica di Weimar" in una chiave moderna. Secondo l'editorialista di fatto l'Ue si troverebbe nel bel mezzo di due sfide: "Da un lato Donald Trump, dall'altro Matteo Salvini", si legge sul quotidiano.
Poi il giornale britannico parla degli scenari futuri: "La loro ambizione - scrive Munchau - è occupare le istituzioni Ue e distruggere l'Ue dall'interno", come dimostra il minstro degli Interni italiano che "ha messo gli occhi sulle elezioni europee del 2019, e le sue chance sembrano buone".
