When you elect a reality TV show president, he hires TV alums to be his staff.
Everyone knows that Fox News essentially has a direct conduit to the White House, given President Donald Trump's obsession with the network and his close relationship with several hosts.
But on Monday, with the announcement that former Fox News co-president Bill Shine will be heading to work at the White House, even drawing a distinction between the administration and the network is becoming hazy.
"It means you basically have Fox News running out of the White House," said CNN analyst Kirsten Powers on "Anderson Cooper 360" Wednesday night.
Shine "is absolutely beloved at Fox News, he's been there since the very beginning. Two-thirds of the people who work there now, including talent, senior executives, senior producers, EPs, all worked for Bill Shine."
The move is also notable because Shine left the network in disgrace after allegations of sexual misconduct brought down former CEO Roger Ailes. Shine was accused of covering up Ailes abuse, a charge he has denied.
