The off-duty officer was "released to a FBI supervisor," Denver police say.

Police in Denver, CO are investigating after an off-duty FBI agent allegedly sent a man to the hospital early Saturday morning, ABC 7 reports.

A spokesperson for the Denver Police Department said an off-duty FBI agent was dancing at the Mile High Spirits Club at 12:45 a.m. Saturday. 

Video of the incident shows the agent do a back flip as the gun dislodges from his waistband. When he retrieves the weapon, the gun goes off, allegedly striking another person (off-camera) at the club. 

ABC 7 reports the federal officer “was taken to Denver Police Headquarters and later released to a FBI supervisor.” 

According to CBS Denver, authorities are trying to determine whether alcohol played a role in the incident. So far, no charges have been filed.
