Merkel, che in un’intervista andata in onda ieri sera aveva lasciato intendere che le "turbolenze" dei mercati finanziari e le manovre speculative avrebbero "insegnato agli italiani" come votare. I titolari del bar della città marchigiana hanno deciso di rispondere per le rime appendendo alla porta un cartello emblematico: sullo sfondo di una bandiera tedesca hanno scritto: "Avviso ai clienti di nazionalità tedesca. Poiché i mercati insegneranno agli italiani come votare, il nostro locale applicherà ai clienti di nazionalità tedesca un listino prezzi speciale variabile a seconda dello spread. Vi insegneremo così come consumare bene al bancone di un bar italiano".
Roberto Buratti, titolare del Maracuja Cafè, ha quindi spiegato al quotidiano locale Picchio News: "Si tratta, come evidente, di una provocazione per far capire che noi italiani non accettiamo alcuna ingerenza nel quadro politico del nostro Paese. I tedeschi vengano pure a prendere un caffè da noi, ovviamente lo pagheranno come tutti gli altri. Ma quella di ieri è stata un'offesa inaccettabile per tutti noi italiani e non poteva restare senza una adeguata risposta".
La rettifica di Oettinger è arrivata ieri tardivamente e dopo aver scatenato un vespaio di polemiche non solo in Italia. Il Commissario, per la precisone, avrebbe dichiarato: "Quello che temo e che penso accadrà è che le prossime settimane finiscano per mostrare drastiche conseguenze nei mercati italiani, sui titoli e sull’economia, così vaste che dopotutto potrebbero spingere gli elettori a non votare per i populisti di destra e di sinistra. C'entra la possibile formazione del governo. Posso solo sperare che questo abbia un peso nella campagna elettorale e che mandi un segnale perché non venga data la responsabilità di governare ai populisti di destra e di sinistra".
