Recentemente ha fatto discutere lo spot fatto da Benetton sui migranti di origine africana che arrivano in Europa con i barconi.
Tale spot, ideato dal fotografo Oliviero Toscani, ha fatto alquanto parlare di sé ed ha ricevuto critiche sia da Matteo Salvini che dalla stessa ONG Sos Mediterranee, la quale ha sostenuto che "la tragedia umana che si consuma nel Mediterraneo non può mai essere utilizzata a fini commerciali"(1).
Su tale vicenda è interessante ricordare il fatto che la stessa Benetton, come ha ricordato un articolo del sito 'Politicamente Scoretto'(2), è da tempo impegnata in una controversia legale con gli indigeni mapuche in Argentina.
Più specificatamente, come riportato in un articolo della testata online 'The Submarine'(3), la 'battaglia' tra la potente corporation e i mapuche è incominciata nel 1991, quando la stessa famiglia Benetton acquistò per 50 milioni di dollari la compagnia inglese 'Compañía de Tierras Sud Argentino' e con essa 900.000 ettari di terre abitate dai Mapuche.
In seguito, gli indigeni che abitavano quegli stessi terreni vennero fatti sfollare e vennero sostituiti da 260 mila capi di bestiame.
Insomma, le lezioni di 'umanitarismo' e 'terzomondismo' da parte della Benetton risultano alquanto ambigue ma forse non sono propriamente incoerenti con una certa "etica" di stampo "mondialista".
