As the title states, my wireless network completely disappears on all of my devices several times throughout the day. Both my 2.4 and 5g networks disappear from the list of networks, then reappear shortly after, as if the router has reset. It seems to be the absolute worst when I am trying to stream something from my PC to a Chromecast enabled device like my Nvidia Shield.
My setup includes:
- Hitron CGNM-2250 from Shaw Cable - ISP provided modem/router which is set up in bridge mode.
- D-Link DIR-822 - my router which is used as the wireless access point.
I have had this setup for about 16 months with no issue to speak of until this week. My troubleshooting has consisted of complete resets to the router and the modem, and I have gone back to default settings on my router with no luck. This also spans every device I've checked on, from my desktop and laptop to phones and my android TV.
I would like to know if there is anything else I should be checking? My thought is that my router may need replacing, but it's hard to know for sure. I will probably try taking the Hitron gateway out of bridge mode and seeing if its network is reliable, but that requires a call to my ISP. If there is anything else that I can do before then, please let me know!
