I know that’s a useless title, but it’s about all the information I have. Over the last week, my computer has started beeping at me. Like a motherboard/system speaker beep, not an audio-out beep. First it was once. A few days later it was three in a row. Last night it was one long beep for about 7 seconds. Seems to happen during heavy use — at least two of the times were during video game cutscenes.
I built the machine a few years ago. I put in a fan controller, but to be honest I never really learned much about it. It monitors CPU heat and controls two of the 4 fans on the case. It reads my computer was only at 95F when this happened most recently.
It’s gotten warmer here which is why I’m wondering if it was heat. I just don’t know how to check logs to verify that, or what it might be if it isn’t heat. Is there any possibility another component has a speaker built in, like the fan controller or graphics card (R290)?
It’s just so intermittent, and coming from an obscured source, that I’m not sure where to start. Thanks!
