So I just picked up a Sony Bravia KDL-19M4000 screen from a client. Screen specs are 16:9 HD 720p Resolution (1440x900) LCD Panel. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1.
I have successfully extended my laptop screen to this monitor via the HDMI cable, but when I "maximize" a window on this screen, it enlarges too big to where I can not see the outer edges of the window. I don't seem to have an ability to adjust the "monitor 2" display resolution to a custom value and it is currently set on 1600x900. I've tried different resolution settings but it doesn't seem to work..The TV has some picture settings such as "Full, 16:9 and zoom". Sony is currently set to 16:9. It also has "auto wide" which I turned off. It has some grayed out settings '4:3' default and "PC settings" which I can't figure out why I can't access. I also turned "auto-wide" off on the Sony.
I know this seems like a minor issue, and I can manually adjust the window size on the second monitor, but I'm just wondering if there is a fix for this that isn't a complete nightmare. Thanks!
