I decided that I wanted to convert my larger hard drive from an external to an internal drive. This is a 5TB USB 3.0 drive that has around 4TBs of movies on it. I had just done the same thing with another drive with 1TB of TV shows on it. I copied over the TV shows onto another drive before i ripped open the external enclose, since I'd never done this before. The 1TB took a while to transfer and the drive connected to the computer without any issues. I figured, instead of waiting all of the time to copy over the 4TBs, I'd just move the drive over. That was apparently a very poor move. Ever since I connected it directly to the computer, the contents have been inaccessible. It shows 2 unallocated partitions that equal the amount of missing media. I've tried a few of the programs that Google and Youtube have recommended. MiniTool Partition Wizard, EaseUS Partition Master, Remo Recover, maybe one or two others. They take forever to run on a 5TB drive. Sometimes they crash before they are done. One of them didn't seem to find files over 4GBs. Also, the raw data seems to have lost any file names in the process. Is there an easier way to do this? Can i use a SATA USB adapter to get the computer to read it like it did before it was taken out of the case? I could really use some help on this. I'm really just looking for the dummies way to access this drive and copy my files off of it.
