I got a new crucial 500gb SSD a couple of months ago and finally got around to installing it today but am having some major issues. So to start off I am doing a fresh install. I have created a usb windows boot using the windows install tool, I have disconnected my old HDD and connected the new SSD. When I restart the computer to install windows to the new SSD I get the windows 10 logo (but no spinning ring of beads below). I waited for 10 minutes before turning it off and on again to the same result. Frustrated I plugged in the old HDD and checked to make sure the SSD is being recognised. It doesn't show up in my computer but it does show up on disc manager so I think it's fine. Looking around online I saw the recommendation of using Rufus to install windows iso to usb so I tried that disconnected the HDD again and restarted my computer. Again I got the windows 10 logo but decided to wait it out a bit longer and see if anything happens. After about 25 minutes the screen turned baby blue. The same shade of blue the background of the install screen would be. Unfortunately after waiting a further 10 minutes nothing else loaded. I have looked around and seen some people recommend that updating the bios might fix this problem but I would rather leave that as a last resort as I have read that if anything goes wrong it can brick the pc.
Any ideas on what to try next would be greatly appreciated. I've spent a good few hours looking but since the symptoms are similar to a lot of other problems with windows finding answers feels like looking for a pin in a haystack.
