A few days ago, my phone stopped charging. I thought maybe my Samsung charger just died, so I got another charger and my phone started up just fine. It worked for 2 days then wouldn't charge after that. I looked at my charging port last night and it was dirty. So I tried to get what little lint out I could. It wasn't much because I was afraid to mess up my port with the toothpick.
Neither charger would work. I looked at the chargers and it looks like they are dirty now too. This morning I tried plugging in a new charger, and my phone started charging immediately.
Is it possible that my charging port is getting the chargers dirty? Or possibly even leaving a sticky residue that I cannot visibly see in the port?
My fiance told me my phone probably just gave out and is done for, but I don't see why it would charge so perfectly with a new charger if that were the case.
I'm not very great with tech, but this seems like common sense. I'm going to buy a can of compressed air to get all of the lint out, then do a 95 rubbing alcohol sweep of my port and let air dry. Does this sound like it could be the problem and a good solution?
TL;DR My Samsung s7 is going through chargers a few days at a time. It seems as though the port is just dirty and in turn, getting the chargers dirty maybe with a sticky residue. Should I clean out with a can of compressed air followed by 95 rubbing alcohol and air dry. Or am I entirely wrong about the problem?
