Hey, just found this subreddit and wanted to get an opinion on a problem that's stumped me for quite some time.
I'm by no means a PC expert. Last September I built a PC based on a modest budget, so it's not brand new but certainly not old. For a few months I've used a small VGA monitor (It's since discarded so I don't remember the brand) but bought a 50 inch 1080p LG TV to use instead.
The first issue that came up was playing moderately demanding games anywhere from PUBG, Fortnite, as well as Far Cry Primal. I would be in the middle of a game and my PC would freeze completely. I'd have to restart it, and get another hour out of it before it would freeze again. This happened with both my small monitor and my TV. More recently after I started using just the TV for my PC, I noticed that when I would reboot or after a freeze it would take at times 10 minutes to boot, and when it does boot it goes directly to the windows password screen, no boot screens or anything. It seems as if the computer takes a long time to recognize its video input, but also my keyboard and mouse don't light up until the computer randomly comes back to life.
I googled around and spoke to a few people and the consensus seemed to be my GPU is either slowing everything down or overheating causing a freeze so I downloaded MSI afterburner. It only gets to about 55-60 when playing Far Cry, i'm not sure if that helps. On the other hand my CPU is also around 70c. If you need any more information please let me know!
