I've been having this problem since before the April update. Maybe someone can give me a fix?
If I have multiple programs open and a file folder open. Let's say I open my downloads folder, I then launch firefox, if I click on the open downloads folder down on the taskbar, it doesn't open.
It won't come to the foreground so that I can see it. I have to right click and close it and go through the start menu again to open file explorer.
Has anyone else came across this? It's not specific to firefox, happens when I have other programs open also like adobe products, chrome, etc. Seems to only happen with file explorer windows.
I found this through google, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-desktop/windows-not-coming-to-the-front/a6c86cc1-3b23-4b24-b2a2-33840d47fb44
and I verified that I do have the same setting as shown in the one answer there,
-
Go to start and type regedit.exe.
-
Navigate to the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
-
Double click the 'ForegroundLockTimeout' key. Change the notation to decimal.
-
The default value should be 200000 millisecond in decimal, or 200 seconds. Click OK.
-
Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
Mine is already set to 200000
