In his first few weeks on the job, the former mayor has already made the president look like a liar.

MSNBC contributor Donny Deutsch made a bold but plausible prediction on Friday about the future of President Donald Trump's legal team: Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and one of the newest members of the team, will be gone in two weeks.

While it would be a stunning turn of events, there's a lot of reason to think Giuliani's fate might already be sealed. This week, Giuliani undermined Trump's claims to not know anything about a hush money payment to a porn star who says she had an affair with the president. Giuliani revealed, for the first time, that Trump actually reimbursed his attorney, Michael Cohen, for the hush money and suggested it was done to help the president's electoral chances — which raises questions about potential campaign finance violations.

Giuliani also made claims about Trump's reasons for firing former FBI Director James Comey, which may have implications for potential charges of obstruction of justice.

On Friday, Giuliani released a statement appearing to claim he wasn't speaking on the president's behalf, and Trump said Giuliani would "get his facts straight."

Deutsch told MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace of "Deadline: White House" that Trump probably hired the former mayor impulsively, and he may be gone just as quickly.

"If the defense of Giuliani is to say he's a rookie, he just didn't have all the facts — 'wet behind the ears,' just out of Fordham Law School — it's preposterous," Deutsch said.

He added: "I predict Rudy Giuliani will be out of here in two weeks."
