Need a little help here, just installed a new CPU and Motherboard and as you can imagine things have been unstable ever since.

I keep getting blue-screened whenever the system comes under any real stain - mainly running a game for too long, or will instantly crash upon launch if it is simply too rough of a game (Total Warhammer 2 is primary culprit here). Herein, the bluescreen gives me the error code "irql_not_less_or_equal", and I've also seen "kmode_exception_not_handled". In all my googling, the only common threads seem to be either that it is an issue with the RAM installed or a driver issue, and the crashes themselves suggest it is an issue with the new CPU. Considering this new CPU is an i7-8700k, there is no reason an unmodded Total Warhammer 2 should be smacking it down so hard on launch...

> GPU driver up to date

> Motherboard BIOS is up to date

> Chipset driver is up to date (Unconfirmed, See Below)

> Windows 10 freshly reinstalled

> (multiple) System scans show no issue with memory, I have done all the dances involving swapping sticks out

> Temperature hasn't been an issue and hasn't gone over 50c at all in testing, also no crashes seem to correlate with temperature - only CPU strain.

System specs:

CPU: i7-8700k (Formerly i3-7100U)

Mo-Bo: ASUS Z370-A (Formerly Z270)

GPU: GTX 760Ti DCU2

RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LPX (2 x 8GB) DDR4

PSU: TR2 600W

OS: Windows 10 x64bit

Thanks a ton, guys, I am too excited to really test out the new CPU and can't wait to see what it can do when it's not possessed by cyberdaemons!

UPDATE!:

So... I came across this in my diagnostics. https://i.imgur.com/PFVhHjs.pngSo if I'm not mistake the Z370 chipset should use a 300-series driver, no? I'm thinking this could totally be the culprit, but at the same time, I can't seem to find any support or direct driver downloads for the 300 series or 8700k in particular on Intel's site. Something I'm missing? Has it done this to anyone else?
