Hello,
I have a few questions regarding MST hubs and their compatibility with freesync and hdmi 2.0
Some backstory - I have an AOC G2460PF 1080p 144hz freesync monitor, an HP mixed reality headset (2880x1440 resolution), and an r9 390 graphics card, but in order to run the headset at 90hz I have to use a dp 1.2 to hdmi 2.0 adapter which means I have to use DVI on my monitor, which doesn't seem to let me use freesync. After figuring this out, I started to look into MST hubs so I could theoretically have freesync for my monitor AND 90hz in vr. But is where my problem starts.
I first saw this club 3d hub which looked promising, but in the product description it says it supports up to a maximum of hdmi 1.4, which limits me to 60hz. I then saw this startech hub which doesn't say anything about a maximum hdmi spec
So my questions are:
-Does freesync even work over MST
-If so, would I be able to use my dp1.2 to hdmi 2.0 adapter and still get full bandwidth for both connections
-If its not possible, is there a way to force freesync over a dual link dvi connection?
I appreciate your time reading this. Thanks
