- Nel caso in cui non siano avanzate richieste di ulteriori indagini, si apre la discussione sulla competenza parlamentare dei reati imputati. Se la relazione propone la messa in stato d’accusa, il voto è a scrutinio segreto e la destituzione scatta solo se si raggiunge la maggioranza assoluta.
- La questione passa infine alla Corte Costituzionale che, coadiuvata da sedici giudici aggregati estratti a sorte, potrà – dopo un vero e proprio processo – emettere la sentenza inappellabile.
