I recenlty bought an ultrawide monitor (LG 29UM69G) and i want to use it with the old one (LG 22EA53)
My graphics card only has one hdmi port so I connected the old monitor Hdmi(monitor) to Display port(gpu) and i get the no signal thing blinking on the screen. BUT if i turn that monitor off (not unplug it) and leave it connected, my computer detects it and i can see it as the second screen in display settings and nvidia control panel. only if its turned off, when i turn it on the second screen in the options dissapears.
I also tested this with screen share in discord with my friend. He could see my other screen while it was turned off.
I also tried using the Display Port(monitor) to Hdmi(gpu) connection with my new monitor but i get the same thing: no signal.
one thing to note: while updating gpu drivers the old monitor, which was then connected as the main monitor hdmi - hdmi, mirrored to the new one(Hdmi - DP) for a few seconds then went back to no signal, so i assume the cable is working.
My system: windows 10 home , i7 2600k , gtx960 4gb , 16gb ram
