So a few days ago my pc decided to start giving me massive frame drops in only some games like Siege (from 80fps to 16-25 every 5 seconds) and Dark Souls 3 (unplayable 60fps down to 5 every 2 seconds ) .
But in games like Rocket League I get a solid 180fps.
Over that time I've tried an abundance of possibilities:
Cleaning all dust out of heat sinks and fans, Replacing thermal paste on both cpu and gpu, switching out motherboards, switching out RAM, reinstalling Windows 10, underclocking cpu and gpu, switching out dvi/HDMI cables, switching out monitors, switching out USB devices like kb/m with no others plugged in, used Malwarebytes, moved fans around, reinstalled old video drivers, updated to new drivers, turned off overlays, tested games on my 2 SSD's and HDD, reinstalled windows 10 on other SSD.
The thing that stumps me is I took my pc to a friends house to try switching out my cpu/gpu, but without switching anything, my pc was running better than before, Siege at about 90fps no stutters, and Dark Souls at a solid 85fps no stutters. So thinking that it fixed itself, I returned home and it was back to dropping frames.
My PC Build. Had this baby for 4 years now, never happened before.
