2018 Russian Victory Day Parade In Full
This year's Russian Victory Day Parade was a record-breaker. More than a million people marched in the streets of Moscow...most holding photos of relatives who fought and/or gave their lives in the Great Patriotic War...or, as the West calls it, WWII.
I watched snippets of the parade and was particularly impressed with the extended drum roll at the 1.11.36 mark...I have never seen such a feat of absolute rhymic synchronicity....worth skipping to the end of the video above to watch it. I chuckled to myself, wondering how the Americans will match that drum roll....and the other fabulous aspects of the Russian parade...as they are hoping to do this coming fall. The bar has been set extremely high and as I say..."wait for it"...
It's a real mystery why the meagre Western coverage of the parade does not dwell on--or attempt to analyse Putin's motives in inviting Rogue Entity [can't call it a state because Israel has no declared borders] Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to watch the parade from the stands with him.
At the very least, the invitation served to set the Western Ziofascist-Atlanticists back on their heels. As I mentioned in my previous posts, the stunning invitation and acceptance of the Russian invitation goes against the grain of recent geopolitical developments. The way things were trending...Israel was boxing itself further and further into a corner. Like a rabid pit bull...lunging at anything nearby and even biting and gnawing on its own legs [Palestinian citizens].
Suddenly the rabid dog was invited into the parlour with the polite people. What to make of this????
Of course, since it is a complex matter that won't lend itself to good guy/bad guy/white hat/black hat posturing...the Western main$tream media simply ignores it. Since the newz websites won't tackle the questions...it's up to the alternative media [little moi] : ) to do the job.
So, what WAS Putin thinking when he invited the pit-bull into the parlour? Here are some suggestions:
1. Putin was trying to raise Netanyahu's self esteem...so that he wouldn't need to prove himself all the time by ordering cowardly night-time bombing sorties over vulnerable smaller states;
2. He was showing the West that the situation is more complicated than they think...and peace can be found through many routes...not just bullying, threats and isolation;
3. He was taking the "wind out of the sails" of the West's latest demonization of Russia and its allies--nominally done on behalf of Israel...in other words by hosting Netanyahu he was cutting the West off at the knees. They can no longer plead that they're defending "tiny Israel" from the aggressive Russian bear.
4. Potentially, Putin will make an example out of selling Israel some of Russia's "State of the Art" armaments. Hey, if Israel can defy sanctions and get the "really good stuff"...I don't think the West can force [via sanctions] other countries like Turkey and Saudi Arabia into buying Western garbage.
5. I hope that in a "tit for tat" exchange, Putin will offer some succulent Russian weaponry in exchange for a new deal for Palestine...and for the Palestinian children...including freedom for little Ahed Tamimi.
All of the above reminds me of an old saying my mother used to use. "You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar". So when I read Western alternative pundits constantly chiding Putin for being too "soft" on their own renegade leaders like Trump and Netanyahu...as Stephen Lendman did this morning, and like Paul Craig Roberts is wont to do, I think of this old saying and hope....for the sake of our planet Earth, that it works. Because it appears that's what Putin's doing....trying to capture flies with honey.
