hello!
i recently purchased an ASUS Vivobook, Intel i7-7700HQ, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and GTX 1050 4GB graphics. running Windows10 Home. however, the laptop would at first default to using the Intel integrated graphics. upon disabling them so that the system would default to the NVIDIA graphics, i updated the 1050 drivers, but then noticed that i became unable to adjust the brightness level of my screen. the option is totally greyed out for me, and the FN hotkeys don't adjust it like they should, either. i read that it may be the latest NVIDIA driver to be at fault, so i tried rolling the driver back via Device Manager, to no avail, and now the NVIDIA GeForce program itself is saying "you are currently not using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU" (even though i clearly must be, since the integrated graphics are disabled), so i can't roll it back through that platform, either.
obviously, i want to use my 1050 graphics, since having them was one of the main reasons i purchased this device, but having max brightness on all the time is bad for both my eyes and battery life. hoping someone here can help me out!
thank you!
