I was using this 4gb sd-card to boot linux iso's and put it away for a couple months, I just went to re-format it to save some pics on it and when I put it in my laptop my OS (linux mint) doesn't even show a drive was inserted when I check my files, I can only tell it's 'in' because the USB adapter-stick has an LED (and I can access the sdb drive in Mint's built-in 'USB reformatter' app)
Using the built-in app I've tried re-formatting it over and over, it says 'successful' when done but I'm still left with an sd card that isn't recognized by my file-system when plugged in and, if I go back to the formatter, it's still calling it a 127mb card....could a 4gb card degrade in just 2-2.5mo of sitting in a sealed rubbermaid container in a drawer? Wasn't near magnets or dropped or anything, can't see how it could have such a loss in capacity..
Thanks for any help here! I know it's just a 4gb card but it's just frustrating the hell out of me, would've been a perfect fit for what I wanted to store on it and should've worked...
[FWIW, oddly enough if I pull it up through GParted it tells me 121mb, unsure what to make of this! Is this card trash or am I missing something?]
