I have a 1600x CPU, RX 480 8GB GPU, Windows 10.

Noticed a few hiccups watching a 720p video in VLC yesterday. Started checking around and MSI after burner was showing 100% GPU usage. I have a custom fan curve so it was staying cool but audible from across the room.

Ran malwarebytes and spybot, they didn't find anything. Noticed it stoppped after a reboot and started after turning FireFox on. I reinstalled FF and at the same time started disabling anything in device manager that was added/modified in the last 24 hours.

Everything seems better now, but since I did all of that at once out of frustration I'm not sure what fixed it, and what should actually be deleted.

Anyone have advice about any of this? I mean I guess I could wait a few weeks and see if malwarebytes picks up on it, I just don't like just leaving the shit there disabled.
