So a client wanted us to submit a set of plans, which is usually a PDF, in a TIFF format with 300dpi. I did a batch print through BluBeam and all the PDFs were converted to TIFFs with 300 dpi. The problem was that these images were huge, like 50MB-200MB average.
My coworker chose to open a few PDFs in Adobe and save/print as TIFF image. I noticed that his file sizes were way smaller than mine (like 2 MB) and in the properties of the TIFF images it said the DPI was the same 300dpi as my massive files. The only difference was that his images said they were LZW compressed and my images were uncompressed. His method is "cleaner" in the sense that he could just make all the images and throw it on a folder on the CD, while I had to zip my files up.
What is going on here? Seems like LZW is superior and less dirty to do. Is there a way I can get BluBeam to batch convert PDFs into LZW-compressed TIFF images with 300dpi? I'm not planning on opening 200 individual PDFs and printing 200 individual TIFF images.
