I've tried to Google this problem, but haven't quite found what seems to be my specific issue. Here's a quick backstory.
About two weeks ago, my computer shut off and wouldn't start back. Figured it was the power supply, as it was a prebuilt system and a bit lower than I wanted (600w). Bought a new 850w (Supernova 850 G2), installed it, and everything seemed to work just fine. About a week and a half later, the computer randomly began to start shutting down. This would happen about 10 to 15 minutes in, with minimal usage. I was able to turn it back on each time after flipping the power supply switch off and on again. Cleaned the fans, got rid of dust, and tried again. Also confirmed the fans were running.
During one of the times it was running, I installed a monitor to watch the temperature for the CPU and GPU. Both were well within tolerance (25-40 CPU, 35 or so for GPU). At this point, I moved the PC to a completel different outlet, surge protector, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. It seemed to be fine for an hour or so, but kept it running and shut off again when I was stepped away.
The only odd thing that stands out it my mind is one of the fans will make a bit of a loud noise as startup, but is fine after that. For reference, I have an i7-6700, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, ASUS H170-Pro MB, and have a SSD and HDD, with the system on the SSD.
Not sure if this is hardware or maybe something got downloaded that causes this, but any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more system info to help pinpoint the problem, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
