My family recently moved from our house temporarily to an apartment while we are building a new house. I have 2 cats and 2 small children (1 and 4). Needless to say I have nowhere else to put my computer safely so it is in this thing. It is not deep enough for the case to face front to back so it has to be sideways. I also have a few other things like a UPS/switch/router/AP inside this thing. It has a ton of gaps all around, I have an LED fan and I can see light glowing out all over the place.
Currently just for heat sake I have removed the GPU because that is probably my main source of heat, but I would like to get it back in. Any suggestions on what to do as far as airflow? The back is a few inches from the wall but I did already cut some holes in the back and I was able to mount some casefans as exhaust.. not sure if intake would be better considering all the gaps for air to escape? I have a fairly aggressive fan curve and I am able to keep the CPU under 60C while streaming videos from it via Plex.
Any input greatly appreciated. I know this isn't an ideal solution by any means, but I would rather have it safely in this cart than have my sons destroy it or use it as a ladder to crawl up by the TV and then knock it on top of themselves (if you have kids you know they do whatever they can to injure themselves).
