I'm trying to incorporate better security practices. EMET was recommended as mitigation practice worth trying. However, from what I understand Microsoft will be ending EMET support soon and has recommended upgrading to Windows 10 for improved security. I assume it will be incorporating something similar to EMET if it has not already done so but I'm uncertain to the details of what that item would be.

Honestly I am not very happy with the GUI of Windows 10. I find it confusing and obtrusive masking details. I'm sure it's nice for everyday users and I'm not against those and I only use it because it's support in patching, but I would prefer more detail. If wasn't for compatibility issues then I would switch to *nix based systems.

That being said. Are there any replacements or more details about what exactly will be incorporated into Windows 10 so that EMET is unnecessary? I'm kind of out of the loop and if nothing is planned then what to is the reasons for ending support
