Hello, I have a strange problem with my laptop. It doesn't recognize a second monitor (or a TV) except the one monitor I usually use the laptop with. I have been using my laptop almost all the time connected to my primary monitor Samsung C27F591 but when I try to connect the laptop to any other - different monitor (or a TV), the laptop doesn't detect it.
I have tried all these things so far> 1. Reinstalling graphics drivers (I uninstalled Nvidia + Intel drivers and installed the latest drivers) 2. Trying another cable (or reduction) 3. Changing all possible settings related to this (Windows control panel, Intel and Nvidia drivers) 4. Trying to change resolution and then connecting the TV 5. Trying a button "Detect second monitor" in Windows control panel and Intel driver 6. Deactivating Intel and Nvidia GPUs in Device manager and then connecting the TV 7. Trying to connect a different laptop to the TV with the same cable (it worked, the different laptop also has Windows 10) 8. Trying to change the displaying mode with WIN+P (when the second monitor was connected) 9. Trying to connect another different external monitor to my laptop (didn't work as well) 10. Turning FREESYNC off/on before disconnecting the Samsung monitor and then connecting to the TV
I am not a beginner with computers but I really don't know what's causing this. Sometimes I want to watch a movie in the living room - project from laptop to TV but it doesn't work - the laptop recognizes only the Samsung monitor in my room, not any other monitor or TV. I use the Samsung monitor connected to the laptop and it works perfectly, without any problem. I should mention that I usually have FREESYNC enabled on the Samsung monitor because it highers refresh rate to 75hz and the image is a little more smoother then, but I already tried turning it off/on before connecting the laptop to the TV.
My laptop is ASUS K401UQ (Intel Core 6200U with Intel HD Graphics 520, Nvidia GTX 940MX and 8GB RAM).
I would be thankful for any help. Thanks in advance.
