My Lenovo ideapad has presented no issues since I got it a while back until this week. Everything was working fine a few days ago, one night before bed I was going to shut the laptop down and there was an update from Win. So clicked on it install and shut down.
Next day. Some of my favourite sites, Reddit.com and nba.com were always offering a connection failed: time out error on Firefox, and other browsers (chrome, even tried edge!!) Messages similar to this:
The connection has timed out
The server at youtube.com is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Annoying. Most other sites and services worked fine, including Netflix and Steam. Fast forward a few days, now Reddit.com is working and not timing out, but now other sites are. Some sites such as bbc website still dont work, and now youtube (sometimes it works, but when I search or try to browse my profile, the pages are all blank and white except for the youtube menu on the left hand side. Also, now Steam related websites and the Steam store through the app itself are not working always getting error codes.
I've done thorough scans for any malware, and nothing, I flushed the DNS (which someone suggested in response to issues with Voobly), I don't have any known firewalls. My modem has been reset and unplugged etc. WIFI Internet seems completely fine on my phone, and for my girlfriends phone, just on this laptop.
It seems strange that some websites didn't work a few days again, and then work, and now a few more don't work and it seems to have transitioned into some of the apps on the internet I use also (Steam, Voobly).
Sorry if I have missed something out, happy to provide more info if I can. Would just very much like to resume normal internet usage :)
