Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm having an intermittent issue with my PC and have been having said problem for maybe 5-6 weeks now (since windows update cumulative KB4074588). Occasionally, when booting it will power on the case, case fans, LED's and GPU fans and lights, but no signal gets to either of my monitors, my keyboard or mouse. Power is still supplied to any USB devices that are plugged in (ie my phone). Not a black screen with cursor, just no signal whatsoever.
Sometimes just powering off and rebooting once does the trick, sometimes I have to do it 9 times. Sometimes it only boots properly if I change my DP cable to the second Display port, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried removing all my USB devices and cables, I've tried using a different power cable into the power supply, I've tried using a different wall outlet. I've tried re-seating the GPU, the ram and the power supply cable into the Mobo. Nothing. When it does work it seems random. Just now I had to turn it on and off maybe 40+ times, changing the display and HDMI ports at random until it booted with signal.
This all started on the day I installed Windows cumulative update KB4074588. I figured it hadn't installed correctly so I deleted and reinstalled the update which seemed to install properly. I did this again a couple weeks later with the next update, but again no concrete solution. I've even tried rolling back the Nvidia display drivers and doing a fresh install, but again I can't be sure as it will be fine for weeks before coming up again.
My suspicion is that it's either a software issue, perhaps to do with the updates and that a full format and fresh install is in order OR my GPU or power supply is faulty.
If I've left anything out or I need to elaborate further please let me know.
