My laptop is a Dell Latitude E6410 and only has one VGA port on it.
I got a VGA splitter so that I could hook two external monitors(which are also Dell) to the one VGA port. When I go to graphics properties to set up an extended display, it only allows me to bring up an extended display with the laptop's built-in screen as one of the displays and both monitors acting as the other display.
The problem is that it seems to think that the two external monitors are not two monitors. It seems to think that they are just one monitor. They're both getting a picture, but it's always the same picture. I can't seem to set up the two external monitors as completely separate displays.
Ultimately, my goal is to not even use my laptop's built-in screen for anything and instead just have an extended display between the two external monitors. I just want to keep the laptop for the CPU and have all video output shared between the external monitors. Is there any way to do this?
